ExplorATEion activity boxes are curated sets of activities designed to address feeding difficulties in anxious, picky eaters while improving skill development in areas such as fine motor, sensory processing, and social skills. They are occupational therapy based to support therapeutic goals in a playful and engaging manner.
What ages are the boxes recommended for?
Our boxes are recommended for children ages 3+.
Who can benefit from the explorATEion activity boxes?
Anyone! However, our activity boxes are especially beneficial for children that are picky eaters or children with sensory differences impacting mealtime participation.
What types of activities are included in the activity boxes?
Our boxes include a variety of activities such as fine motor activities, sensory exploration activities, play-based feeding activities, and interactive games designed to promote developmental milestones. In addition, each box includes a grocery list, a guide to follow with tips and suggestions, and kitchen tools and utensils to enhance food play.
At this time, the children's book and the individual food items are not included.
When is the best time to use our activity boxes?
Always use your box as an activity between mealtimes, rather than as a meal.
What are the benefits of the explorATEion activity boxes?
Our main goal is to reduce picky eating, by allowing kids to become more comfortable with foods without the expectation to eat. Engaging in a variety of activities with food provides your child with an opportunity to learn about the textures, smells, colors, and tastes of foods through play. In addition, our boxes promote sensory integration, enhance fine motor skills, supports language development, fosters regulation, social skills, and creativity, improves functional cognition, and provides a sense of connection and confidence.
Can these activities replace therapy sessions?
Our activity boxes are designed to complement therapy sessions and provide ongoing support at home. They are not intended to replace personalized therapy plans.
